If you are looking for a PPC consultant, here are some tips to help you out and make sure you find a good one:
Does the consultant require a monthly fee to monitor and tweak the campaign? If they don’t or they have extremely expensive setup fees, I would run away fast! Daily management is needed for any good campaign!
Does the consultant have good references and testimonials? Be sure to CALL or EMAIL them before you pay anything for the service. This is critical and due diligence requires it!
Does the consultant mention tracking and analytics? If they don’t keep calling to find another firm. This is the most critical part. It does not matter how many people click on your Ad, remember, Google gets paid for EACH click (if you setup your campaign that way)… so the important thing is conversion.. you have to have tracking to see conversion…
Some some tips I thought I would share. Of course, we do all the above

I was thinking today something I had not checked in a long time… You looks at your LinkedIn profile! You need to check this out at least once a month. It can be a goldmine. If they are connected to you, be sure to send them a nice message like:
“Hey, I wanted to see how you are doing” or “Are you still working for that XYZ company?”
Don’t mention you know they looked at your profile, but send a nice message to connect again… After all, that is what “social” media is all about, connecting and keeping connections open.
By the way, if you want to see this, log in to LinkedIn and click on your “profile” link and look down the page on the left…

As 2010 comes to an end and I reflect on all the challenges I have had this year as a small business, a consultant, a husband, and a father… I can’t help but wonder what 2011 will bring? What is small business and startups and the families that endure them going to experience next?
2010 brought with it incredible challenges with our banking system, banks taking back business loans, causing countless good business to shut their doors and wonder… Why did I start this business?
We saw incredible decreases in our home valuations and net worths… As the stock market climbed to new heights and big corporations sit on the most cash they have had in decades…
For the small business, it is survival and trying to find the way out. From my experiences putting sales teams together and working on many different businesses, your true focus needs to on marketing (SEO, social media, email, and SEM) and lead management.
If you have a good idea that makes money, stick with it! Try different approaches to marketing and stick with repetition. Don’t just try something once, try multiple times and measure the results.
I wish every small business owner a Happy New Year!!!

I think I speak for everyone, the apple iPad is a must have. I have two kids and they both absolutely love the educational games and things they can do on it!
I also love the portability of it. The idea that I can just read a book, read the news, check the weather, etc…. Anytime and anywhere with complete ease — is awesome!
But, let’s think about it for business… Now the small business can finally be connected with everything they need to be…. Their website, social media, blogging (this was written on my iPad!), projects and more.
Imagine, not having to boot up that terrible old laptop and just do what you need to do and move on! That is what business is supposed to be about…. The business!
